The World Sleep Day will be celebrated on March 19: an annual event dedicated to the culture and awareness of the importance of sleep. Like every year, on the Friday preceding the spring equinox.
The day is promoted by the World Sleep Society around the world and by the Italian Association of Sleep Medicine (AIMS) in Italy.
AIMS is a multidisciplinary professional scientific society that promotes scientific research and clinical training, aimed at knowledge of sleep, the diagnosis and treatment of its disorders.
The World Sleep Day was born in 2008, precisely to raise awareness among the world population about sleep disorders and the related social costs for the community.
The main message from the World Sleep Society is that most of the ailments of the sleep are preventable or treatable. Therefore, information is essential, so that we can sleep well and, consequently, live better.
For the occasion, AIMS organized an interesting webinar: ”THE MARATHON OF SLEEP: from regulatory mechanisms to sleep disorders ”.
The free event will take place from 8.00 to 20.00, presided over by the main Italian experts of the Sleep Medicine.
